Ganduje Labels Kwankwaso a Political Drifter Amid Defections

Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and current governor of Kano State, described Rabiu Kwankwaso as a "political drifter" due to his recent changes in political affiliation. Kwankwaso joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on March 30, citing internal crises within the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

However, just a few days later, on April 3, he defected to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), alongside Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi. This shift followed a Supreme Court judgment that recognized David Mark's leadership of the ADC amid a leadership tussle.

In a recent interview with BBC Hausa, Ganduje expressed that Kwankwaso's political maneuvers would not pose a challenge to the APC in the upcoming elections. He emphasized that his administration, alongside Abba Kabir Yusuf, is strategically positioned to maintain political stability in Kano State.
