Ganduje Claims Kwankwaso's Political Career is Over

Abdullahi Ganduje, the former governor of Kano State, declared that Rabiu Kwankwaso's political career has effectively ended after Kwankwaso's recent defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). In an interview with BBC Hausa Service, Ganduje attributed Kwankwaso's political decline to internal struggles within the ADC regarding the presidential ticket, which he believes will hinder any meaningful success for the party in the state.

He dismissed concerns that Kwankwaso's move to the ADC would weaken the All Progressives Congress (APC), asserting that the APC remains firmly in control of the state's political affairs. Ganduje compared Kwankwaso's political maneuver to a bird moving on a branch, downplaying its significance.

He emphasized the APC's strong internal structure and its ability to attract 30 governors without facing significant opposition. Additionally, Ganduje expressed full support for the appointment of Murtala Sule Garo as Kano's new deputy governor following the resignation of Aminu Abdullahi Gwarzo, highlighting Garo's qualifications and extensive background in local government and public service.
