Kwankwaso Engages ADC, NDC for 2027 Election Talks

Rabiu Kwankwaso, leader of the NNPP, is currently engaged in discussions with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) concerning a potential political realignment for the upcoming 2027 elections. Mansur Kurugu, the spokesperson for Kwankwaso, confirmed these developments to Daily Trust, stating that the talks are ongoing and that a final decision on which platform to adopt has not yet been made.

Kurugu expressed optimism that these discussions would lead to a successful alignment. The talks involve notable political figures, including Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, and NDC leader Seriake Dickson.

The discussions were highlighted during an event in Kano, although specific details regarding the motivations behind the visit were not disclosed. Analysts suggest that these talks are closely linked to the strategies for the 2027 elections.
