Kwankwaso Affirms Yusuf and Ganduje as His Protégés

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a prominent political figure and founder of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, asserted that both Abba Kabir Yusuf, the current governor of Kano State, and former governor Abdullahi Ganduje are his political protégés. This statement was made during an address to members of the Kwankwasiyya Movement on Miller Road, Kano, on Wednesday.

Kwankwaso responded to questions regarding his remarks about Yusuf, humorously referring to the political dynamics and the age difference between himself and the two politicians. He clarified that neither Yusuf nor Ganduje should be viewed as political sons, emphasizing their rise through his mentorship.

Despite the political tensions and differences that have emerged, particularly between Kwankwaso and Ganduje, who served as his deputy and later became governor, Kwankwaso defended the influence he has had on their careers. Both politicians have been significant figures in Kano politics for decades, with Kwankwaso having served as governor, minister, and senator.
