Kwankwaso Calls Yusuf and Ganduje His Political Sons

On Wednesday, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a prominent political figure in Kano State, addressed members of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, asserting that both current governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and former governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje are his political sons. This statement comes amid rising tensions within Kano's political landscape.

Kwankwaso's comments appeared to respond to recent remarks from Governor Yusuf, who reportedly questioned why Kwankwaso referred to Ganduje as a "boy." Kwankwaso, speaking in Hausa, clarified that his use of the term was not meant to be disrespectful, emphasizing the importance of mentorship in politics. He received loud applause from the audience when he stated that he does not view Yusuf or Ganduje as disrespectful political sons.

Kwankwaso also defended his role as a political mentor to these two prominent politicians, noting that Ganduje had previously acknowledged their collaborative efforts. He clarified that their relationship is not one of godfather and son but rather one of mentorship.
