Kwankwaso Opposes Tinubu's Muslim-Muslim Ticket for 2027

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a prominent figure in the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), has publicly opposed President Bola Tinubu's Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket. During an appearance on Channels Television, Kwankwaso expressed confidence that the NDC, with Peter Obi as its candidate, will secure victory in the 2027 presidential elections.

He highlighted that young Nigerians are seeking leaders who can improve living conditions rather than those who focus on ethnic and religious sentiments. Kwankwaso criticized the disconnect of the NDC alliance from the realities faced in Northern Nigeria and argued that the Muslim-Muslim ticket does not address these issues.

He also dismissed claims of religious persecution associated with his party, asserting that the NDC would not be hindered by ongoing legal challenges. Kwankwaso reiterated that while there is nothing inherently wrong with a Muslim-Muslim or Christian-Christian ticket, Nigeria's diversity necessitates a balance that reflects the electorate's choices.
