Kwankwaso Meets Makinde in Ibadan for Courtesy Visit

On Wednesday, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), met with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde in Ibadan. The meeting was characterized as a courtesy visit rooted in their long-standing personal friendship and lasted for two hours.

Kwankwaso clarified that the discussions did not involve political alliances or potential cross-party realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections. He emphasized that the visit was purely to acknowledge Makinde's membership in the People's Democratic Party (PDP), reflecting on his own political journey, which began as a founding member of the PDP in 1998 when he was elected Governor of Kano State.

Kwankwaso later served as Minister of Defence and subsequently joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) before aligning with the NNPP. The meeting also included the inauguration of the NNPP's new office in Ibadan, aimed at strengthening the party's presence in the state capital ahead of the upcoming elections.
