Kwankwaso Meets Makinde to Strengthen NNPP in Oyo

On Wednesday, Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State and national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), visited Ibadan, Oyo State, to inaugurate the party's new state office. This visit aimed to strengthen the NNPP's structure and consolidate unity in Oyo State in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

Kwankwaso arrived at the Oyo State Government Secretariat around 1:15 PM, accompanied by political associates and party officials. He was received by Governor Seyi Makinde, who led him into a closed-door meeting that lasted three hours.

Although the details of the discussions were not disclosed, sources indicated that they touched on political alignments for the upcoming elections. Kwankwaso acknowledged Makinde's previous membership in the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and reflected on his own political journey within the PDP before defecting to the NNPP.

He emphasized that the primary mission of the visit was to reinforce party cohesion in Oyo State.
