Kwankwaso Threatens Ayodele with N10bn Defamation Lawsuit

Rabiu Kwankwaso, a prominent Nigerian politician and current presidential candidate, has issued a threat of a N10 billion lawsuit against Prophet Ayodele. This legal action stems from alleged false and malicious statements made by the cleric during a live stream sermon on June 11, 2026.

Kwankwaso's media aide, Hon. Saifullahi Hassan, stated that the remarks included claims that Kwankwaso is a "fake" and would betray his political ally, Peter Obi, who is the vice presidential candidate for the upcoming 2027 elections under the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).

The legal team, led by Magaji Mato Ibrahim, described the comments as grossly unfounded and damaging to Kwankwaso's credibility and political integrity. They demanded a full retraction and apology within 24 hours, warning that failure to comply would result in the lawsuit.

Kwankwaso's political career includes serving as the governor of Kano State and as a minister of defense.
