Kwankwaso Seeks Northern Support for Obi's 2027 Bid

Rabiu Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano State and a prominent figure in the Labour Party, is actively engaging with northern leaders to gain their support for Peter Obi's presidential campaign in the 2027 elections. Reports indicate that Kwankwaso is attempting to secure a joint presidential ticket platform with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The proposal aims to persuade northern stakeholders to back a southern candidate, specifically Obi, who plans to serve a single term. This strategic shift comes as Kwankwaso's camp has ramped up efforts to consolidate influence within the ADC and among traditional rulers in the north.
