Kwankwaso Promises Collaboration with Peter Obi for 2027

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress and former Governor of Kano State, assured Nigerians of a cordial working relationship with Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, as they prepare for the 2027 elections. In an interview on Arise Television's prime time program, Kwankwaso highlighted his extensive experience in public office, particularly during his tenure as governor, where he successfully collaborated with his deputy for eight years.

He dismissed concerns regarding regional sentiments and differences in political alliances, stating that he sees no reason for conflict between the vice presidency and governorship roles. Kwankwaso referenced historical political alliances in Nigeria, including those formed by leaders such as Abubakar Tafawa Balewa and Ahmadu Bello, to illustrate the potential for productive relationships between leaders from different regions.
