21-Year-Old Arrested for Kidnapping and Murder in Kwara

Soli Olarenwaju Mujeeb, a 21-year-old, was arrested in Kwara State following an investigation into the disappearance of technician Olarewaju Olusegun Afolabi, who went missing on June 7 while inspecting an electrical installation project. The case escalated when Afolabi's family received ransom demands totaling N2 million.

After a series of unsuccessful attempts to contact Afolabi, the family paid N120,000 to a caller. During interrogation, Mujeeb allegedly confessed to the crime, revealing a prior working relationship with Afolabi.

He claimed a disagreement led to the attack, where he lured Afolabi under the pretext of inspecting a new electrical project. The investigation, led by the NSCDC, uncovered a crime scene in a shallow grave believed to contain Afolabi's remains, alongside the recovery of his mobile phone and SIM card.

The NSCDC reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring safety in Kwara State and urged residents to provide credible information to security agencies.
