Three Arrested for Murder of Kwara Poly Student

The Kwara State Police Command arrested three suspects in the murder case of Sodiq Durodola Olaniyi, a 29-year-old student from Oyo State, who was declared missing on June 4. The suspects, identified as Adeoy Babatund Alimi (23), Solar Bernard Kayod (25), and Owoyemi Bashiru (27), are alleged members of a violent cult group responsible for the victim's abduction and murder.

Following a week-long investigation by the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU), the police tracked the suspects to their hideout in Ilorin. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to killing Olaniyi after abducting him.

The police have indicated that the gang consists of 12 members, with nine suspects currently at large. Efforts are ongoing to dismantle the criminal network and recover the victim's body.

The police assured the public that investigations are ongoing and that those found culpable will be prosecuted according to the law.
