Sources indicate that Giwa's candidacy is introducing fresh competition against Abdulrazaq, with campaign posters promoting his gubernatorial ambitions circulating on social media. Alhaji Abdul Razhaq Abubakar Jiddah, a special adviser to the governor, is reportedly involved in promoting Giwa's aspirations, which has fueled allegations of tacit support for this emerging political movement.

Concerns have been raised among APC stakeholders about worsening divisions within the party, especially in light of previous allegations linking Abdulrazaq to opposition figures. The leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has denied claims of a secret political alliance with Abdulrazaq, dismissing reports of his financial support for the party as false.
