Kwara State Assembly Passes N656.6 Billion Budget for 2026, Prioritizing Capital Projects

The Kwara State House of Assembly has passed a budget of N656.6 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, reflecting a reduction in recurrent expenditure and an increase in funding for capital projects. The approved budget, which is N10.6 billion higher than the governor's initial proposal, emphasizes fiscal discipline and efficient resource allocation.

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq's budget aims to strengthen fiscal management and ensure the effective implementation of government programs and projects across the state. The budget process began in December 2025, with the legislature reviewing and adjusting revenue projections and spending allocations.
