Woro Residents Identify Relatives in Bandit Video Release

In Woro, residents have identified relatives in a video released by bandits showing captives following a deadly attack that resulted in numerous fatalities and many missing. The video, confirmed authentic by community leaders, depicts women and children in distress, with claims that the number of abducted individuals far exceeds the official figures of 20 to 30.

Dr. Abdul Woro stated that the number of captives shown in the video aligns with community records, estimating 176 individuals abducted.

A mass burial was conducted for 37 Muslim victims on Thursday, with an additional 75 bodies discovered earlier. The community is also searching for over 100 missing persons, as the local head, Alhaji Salihu Bio Umar, disclosed.

The situation remains dire, with residents fearing further attacks as they gradually return to their town amidst ongoing security operations.
