Kwara Police Search for Killers of Five Forest Guards

On Friday, the Kwara State Police Command confirmed an attack that resulted in the deaths of five members of the National Forest Guard at a police camp in Nuku Village, Kaiama Local Government Area. The incident occurred around 3:00 AM when armed assailants launched a coordinated assault on the security outpost, opening fire and fatally shooting the guards.

The attack also caused extensive damage to police patrol vehicles. The police were able to repel the attackers by 3:45 AM.

The Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, expressed deep sympathy to the families of the deceased and condemned the attack in the strongest terms. He assured residents that tactical intelligence-led operations would commence to track down the perpetrators and urged the public to support ongoing investigations.

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq mourned the slain guards, describing them as heroes who defended their community, and assured support for their families while emphasizing the need to intensify efforts to curb insecurity in the area.
