Kwara State Sets August 1 for Common Entrance Exam

The Kwara State Government has announced that the Common Entrance Placement Examination into Junior Secondary Schools will take place on Saturday, August 1, 2026. The government will fully sponsor the examination for all registered candidates, ensuring that no pupil is required to pay any fees.

This initiative was approved by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as part of efforts to expand access to quality basic education. Lawal Olohungbebe, the state Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, stated that the examination will be conducted simultaneously at accredited centres across the 16 local government areas of Kwara State, starting at 8 am.

Olohungbebe emphasized the importance of removing financial barriers to education and warned against the collection of unauthorized fees by headteachers and examination officials, stating that violators would face disciplinary action. The ministry urged parents and guardians to ensure that all eligible pupils are registered and prepared for the examination.
