Kwara Governor Supports New Army Battalion for Security

Kwara Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq commended the establishment of a new army battalion in Kwara, which is part of efforts to combat banditry and terrorism in the state. The battalion will be situated in Omu Aran, Irepodun Local Government Area, and is anticipated to enhance security operations across Kwara and surrounding areas.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Abdulrazaq described this development as a significant boost to ongoing efforts aimed at improving security and protecting residents. He praised the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, for the swift processing of the state's request for increased military presence.

The governor also acknowledged the contributions of the Office of National Security Adviser (ONSA), the military, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigeria Police Force in the fight against terrorism, banditry, and violent crime. The new battalion is expected to provide additional manpower and resources to support counter-terrorism and anti-kidnapping operations in the state.
