Kwara Governor Lauds New Army Battalion for Security Boost

On Tuesday, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State expressed his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the establishment of a new army battalion in the state, specifically located in Omu Aran within the Irepodun local government area. The governor stated that this development is a fulfillment of the president's promise and part of the federal government's broader strategy to combat terrorism and anti-kidnapping efforts.

In his statement, AbdulRazaq emphasized that the new military formation would significantly enhance the security response to the threats posed by banditry and terrorism. He also acknowledged the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, for the prompt action taken to address the state's request for increased military presence.

Additionally, the governor recognized the support from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and commended the bravery of all security operatives involved in the fight against terrorism, banditry, and other violent crimes.
