Kwara Groups Praise Tinubu for New Army Battalion Approval

Two socio-political groups in Kwara South Senatorial District, the Kwara South Consultative Forum and Aro Meta Kwara South, have praised President Bola Tinubu for the establishment of an Army battalion in Omu-Aran. They regard this development as a crucial improvement to security in the region, particularly in Local Government Areas such as Ifelodun, Ekiti, Oke-Ero, and Isin, which are affected by banditry and kidnapping.

Engr. Otunba Daramola Adebayo Simon, Secretary-General of the Kwara South Consultative Forum, described the approval as a historic milestone that would bolster the region's security architecture.

The groups acknowledged the contributions of Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the Chief of Army Staff in facilitating this initiative. They believe the battalion will enhance public safety, encourage agricultural activities, and foster a conducive environment for investment.

The approval comes amid ongoing security concerns in Kwara South, where communities near forest reserves have faced repeated attacks.
