Kwara State Approves 2025 Promotions for Civil Servants

The Kwara State Government has approved the implementation of the 2025 promotion for workers in the mainstream civil service, as well as the 2024 and 2025 promotions for employees of government agencies, parastatals, and media houses. These approvals will take effect from September 1, 2026, as stated in a memo issued by the Acting Head of Service, Dr. Olufunke Mercy Shittu.

The approval followed the completion of necessary processes by the State Civil Service Commission and the relevant establishments, including an assessment of their financial implications. Dr. Shittu noted that the 2025 promotion for civil servants had been approved, with associated financial benefits to be drawn starting September 1, 2026.

The government also approved the implementation of the 2024 and 2025 promotion exercises for workers in agencies, parastatals, and media houses. These measures are part of the administration's efforts to improve workers' welfare and career progression, aiming to motivate workers, enhance productivity, and strengthen career development.
