Kwara State Approves Promotions for Civil Service Workers

The Kwara State Government has approved the implementation of the 2025 promotion exercise for workers in the mainstream state civil service and the 2024 and 2025 promotion exercises for employees of agencies, parastatals, and media houses. This decision was communicated through a memo issued on Thursday by the Acting Head of Service, Dr Olufunke Shittu, and will take effect from September 1, 2026.

The approvals followed the completion of necessary processes by the Civil Service Commission and the affected establishments, along with the approval from the state Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. The financial benefits arising from the 2025 promotion for mainstream civil servants will also be paid starting September 1, 2026.

Dr Shittu stated that these approvals are part of the AbdulRazaq administration's measures to improve the welfare of workers in the state public service, aiming to motivate workers, enhance productivity, and strengthen career progression.
