Kwara Polytechnic Closed After Police Teargas Students Over NYSC Camp Relocation

Kwara State Polytechnic in Ilorin was shut down following a clash between police and students protesting the relocation of the NYSC orientation camp to Yikpata due to rising insecurity in Kwara North. The students blocked the main gate to prevent newly deployed corps members from accessing the campus.

The police fired tear gas to disperse the protesters, causing tension and chaos. The incident led to the closure of the polytechnic to prevent further unrest and safeguard lives and property, as ordered by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
