Kwara State Reopens Schools Amid Security Concerns After Military Operations

Kwara State has reopened schools after a period of closure prompted by security concerns. The decision was announced by the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr.

Lawal Olohungbeb, following sustained security operations by military and security agencies to eliminate criminal elements hiding in forests and flashpoints across the state. The government, through the Ministry's Press Secretary, Peter Amogbonjay, emphasized the need to maintain vigilance and consolidate recent security gains.

The Nigerian Army, in collaboration with other security agencies, conducted clearance operations in bandit camps, leading to arrests and the recovery of arms and ammunition. The reopening of schools aims to restore normalcy after a wave of kidnappings and attacks forced closures.

Parents were assured of safety measures, with security agencies urging prompt reporting of suspicious activities around school premises.
