Kwara State Powers 13 Hospitals with Solar Energy

The Kwara State government has initiated a project to power 13 public hospitals with solar energy, aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery and ensuring an uninterrupted power supply across the state. This initiative, disclosed in a statement by the Kwara State Hospital Management Board, is part of the government's commitment to promoting a sustainable, climate-friendly healthcare system and improving electricity supply to public health facilities.

Six major hospitals, including General Hospital Jebba and Children’s Specialist Hospital Ilorin, have received 30 KVA solar inverter systems to enhance their power capacity. Additionally, seven health facilities have been equipped with 10 KVA solar inverter systems to support routine and emergency medical services.

The board attributes this expansion of renewable energy infrastructure to the commitment of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to improve healthcare services and promote environmental sustainability. Dr.

Abdulraheem Malik, the Executive Secretary of the board, emphasized that these renewable energy solutions will help build a resilient healthcare system and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
