Kwara State Mourns Five Forest Guards Killed by Bandits

The Kwara State Government has reacted to a recent bandit attack in Nuku, located in the Kaiama Local Government Area, which resulted in the deaths of five forest guards during a midnight assault on a security outpost. Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, in a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media, Bashir Adigun, described the slain guards as brave patriots who paid the ultimate price in defense of their community.

The governor expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and emphasized the need for intensified efforts to curb insecurity in the state. He announced the establishment of a Kwara State Security Strategy Committee, chaired by retired Major General G.

Wahab, to strengthen the state's security response. The attack occurred around 3:00 AM, with the assailants reportedly arriving in large numbers, setting ablaze motorcycles and patrol vehicles belonging to the forest guards, heightening fears among local residents.
