Kwara Residents Flee as Gunmen Attack Community

On Sunday, residents of the Edu Local Government Area in Kwara State fled into nearby bushes as gunmen invaded their community, shooting sporadically. The attack, which involved a large number of assailants, caused intense gunfire that echoed across the area, leaving many residents trapped indoors while others sought safety in the bush.

This incident marks the latest wave of violence in the region, which has previously seen assaults resulting in deaths, abductions, and property destruction. Meanwhile, in Adamawa State, three soldiers were reported killed during a separate attack by suspected insurgents in Garaha District, which occurred around 11:00 AM on Saturday.

The attackers ambushed military personnel, resulting in the loss of military and civilian lives, and reportedly looted weapons and vehicles from a military camp. Reverend Isaiah Yeriman provided eyewitness accounts of the ambush, noting the soldiers' bravery and the tragic loss of life, including a civilian woman.
