Kwara State Launches Coding and Digital Literacy Program

The Kwara State Government has unveiled a coding and digital literacy program for schools, scheduled to commence in 2026. This initiative aims to build on the successes of the 2025 Kwara Future Exhibit, which received widespread acclaim.

The program is designed to ensure that students acquire essential 21st-century skills, with a focus on digital literacy and coding. The curriculum will include web development, artificial intelligence, Python programming, and innovative thinking projects.

The government has emphasized the importance of aligning school administration with outlined guidelines to maintain standards achieved in previous sessions. The rollout of the program has received full approval from Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, who has assured that all necessary provisions will be in place for its success.

The 2026 curriculum will blend high-demand technical and soft skills, preparing students for the evolving global tech landscape.
