Kwara State Launches Training to Improve Maternal Health

On Friday, the Kwara State Ministry of Health announced the launch of a training program designed to enhance maternal and child health outcomes in the state. The initiative, referred to as the "Safer Birth Bundle Care Training," commenced on Thursday and is organized in collaboration with Laerdal Global Health.

Amina Ahm El Imam, the Health Commissioner, described the program as a milestone in the state's ongoing reform efforts to improve maternal and newborn health. She emphasized the importance of credible data in addressing health issues, urging selected data collectors to approach the training with dedication.

Obinna Orjingen, the Country Director of Laerdal Global Health, commended the state government's prioritization of maternal and child healthcare, noting that the initiative aims to improve service delivery and monitor health outcomes. Hadiza Haliyu from UNICEF highlighted the training's significance in strengthening health data systems and improving maternal and newborn health outcomes, applauding the state's commitment to evidence-based interventions.
