Kwesi Arthur Accuses Former Label Boss of Threatening His Life and Controlling Music Brand

Ghanaian rapper Kwesi Arthur has publicly accused his former record label, Ground Up Chale, and its CEO, Glen Boateng, of threatening his life and trying to control his music brand. Arthur alleges that the label demanded $150,000 and ownership of his music catalog for an upcoming independent project, despite his independence since 2022.

He claims that Ground Up Chale did not financially benefit him and that Boateng manipulated profits. Arthur further states that the situation has taken a toll on his mental health.

Despite Ground Up Chale not responding to the allegations, Arthur established his own label, Sisi Music, in 2023, focusing on artist ownership. The dispute has caused distress and stalled Arthur's career, with efforts to block his independent music releases.
