Mbappe Surpasses Messi in El Clasico Goals for Madrid

Kylian Mbappe has rewritten El Clásico history by surpassing Lionel Messi's scoring record for the rivalry in the 21st century. He scored twice to lead Real Madrid to a 2-1 victory over Barcelona at the Spotify Camp Nou.

This achievement came less than a year into his tenure at Real Madrid, bringing his total to eight goals in his first seven appearances in the fixture, exceeding Messi's six goals in the same number of matches. The match was significant as it halted Barcelona's nine-match winning streak under coach Hansi Flick and marked Real Madrid's first win at the Camp Nou since 2021.

Mbappe's decisive goal came in the 87th minute, emphasizing his ability to perform in critical moments. This victory not only reasserted Real Madrid's title credentials but also underscored Mbappe's growing importance in high-pressure games.
