Nenadi Usman Elected Chairman of Labour Party

On Tuesday, during the Labour Party's convention held in Umuahia, Abia State, Nenadi Usman was elected as the substantive chairman, succeeding the former caretaker chairman. The convention also saw the election of Iheanacho Obioma as the national secretary and Hilda Dokubo as the national women leader.

The election adopted a consensus method, which was affirmed by the delegates. Governor Alex Otti commended the chairman of the national congress committee, Ginger Onwusib, and the secretary, Salisu Muhammad, for conducting a credible convention.

Otti described Usman as a woman of integrity and congratulated the newly elected members of the national working committee. Usman emphasized the importance of unity within the party and pledged not to betray the trust placed in her.

She called for maximum cooperation to build the party, highlighting the need for inclusivity and preparation for upcoming primaries.
