Abure Accuses Usman of Intrusion in Labour Party Leadership

Julius Abure, the embattled faction chairman of the Labour Party, accused Nenadi Usman, the interim chairman, of being an intruder in the party during an interview on a political program on Tuesday. Abure emphasized the need for clarity regarding the Labour Party's leadership as the party prepares for the 2027 elections.

He stated that Usman is an interloper and mentioned that the final court decision on the matter has not yet been made. The Labour Party had previously held a convention in 2024 in Nnewi, Anambra State, which a Federal High Court deemed valid, instructing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize the leadership of the Labour Party.

The matter was taken to the Court of Appeal, which affirmed Usman's appeal, and the Supreme Court is now involved in the internal affairs of the party, working closely with INEC on the decision.
