Labour Party Sets New Dates for National Convention

The Labour Party has officially set new dates for its national convention and state congresses, as communicated in a letter to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). This notification follows the postponement of earlier scheduled activities, which the party attributed to the need for broader member participation and the completion of its ongoing digital membership registration exercise.

The party's leadership, including Caretaker National Chairman Nenadi Esther Usman and Caretaker National Secretary Darlington Nwokocha, emphasized their commitment to democratic processes and adherence to legal provisions outlined in the Electoral Act 2022 and the 1999 Constitution. The upcoming congresses at the ward, local government, and state levels are expected to culminate in the national convention, which will shape the party's leadership structure in preparation for future political engagements.
