Lafarge Empowers 100 Persons with Disabilities in Lagos

Lafarge Africa Plc has empowered 100 persons with disabilities through its D2A program, which focuses on vocational and entrepreneurial training. The event, held in Lagos, marked the successful completion of an intensive training program delivered in partnership with Chess Icon and ChangeMaker Tund Onakoya, along with the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) and the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development.

Lolu Alad Akinyemi, Group Managing Director and CEO of Lafarge Africa Plc, emphasized the company's commitment to fostering equity and empowering vulnerable groups to support inclusive economic growth across Nigeria. He noted that this milestone is a significant step towards advancing economic inclusion for persons living with disabilities.

Mobolaji Ogunlend, the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development in Lagos State, commended Lafarge for equipping people with disabilities with the necessary skills and tools to thrive.
