Lagos State Launches Free Health Insurance for 1,320 Residents

Lagos State has initiated a health insurance scheme that offers free health coverage to 1,320 residents across three senatorial districts. This program, part of the Ilera Eko initiative in partnership with the Lagos State Health Management Agency, covers 360 individuals, with each family entitled to coverage for four members, totaling 960 individuals.

The rollout took place on a Monday, with Bashir, the Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Lottery Game Authority, emphasizing the importance of healthcare access. The initiative is described as the first of its kind and aims to improve residents' well-being through strategic interventions.

Emmanuella Zamba, the Permanent Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of LASHMA, highlighted the range of healthcare services covered and urged beneficiaries to utilize the opportunity for quality healthcare access. The program also includes free basic health screenings for beneficiaries.

This initiative reflects the state government's commitment to achieving universal health coverage and improving the quality of life for residents.
