Lagos Announces Road Closures for Fanti Carnival 2026

The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, has announced temporary road closures in preparation for the Fanti Carnival, set to take place on Monday, April 6, 2026. The closures will commence at 7:00 AM and will impact various areas, including King George V Road junction, Onikan Roundabout, TB Flagstaff House, TB Outer Marina, State House, Campbell Street, Old Defence Building, Catholic Mission Street, and St. Nicholas Church.

Motorists and residents are advised to plan alternative routes to mitigate expected traffic delays in the affected areas. The government expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and thanked the public for their cooperation during the carnival.

The Lagos Fanti Carnival is an annual cultural festival organized by the Lagos State Government, celebrating the state's vibrant arts, music, and dance heritage, and is expected to attract a large crowd, showcasing the city's rich cultural heritage.
