Lagos APC Rejects Claims of Predetermined Candidates List

The Lagos State chapter of the APC has officially denied allegations regarding a predetermined list of candidates ahead of the party's primaries for the House of Representatives. In a statement released on Thursday, Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi emphasized that the party is committed to a direct primary process unless a consensus is reached through broad consultation.

The claims were brought forth by a group led by Tund Samson, which included accusations against party leaders, such as Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat and House of Representatives member Jame Faleke, for allegedly compiling a predetermined candidates' list. Ojelabi dismissed these allegations as baseless and a tactic to create a false impression of a crisis within the party.

He reiterated that the APC is dedicated to internal democracy and due process, urging members and the public to disregard the claims as politically motivated misinformation. The party's commitment to transparency and democratic processes was underscored, with Ojelabi stating that the will of the members will ultimately determine the candidates.
