Lagos State Arrests 25 for Motorist Harassment in Lekki

On a late Wednesday, the Lagos State Government, through the State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, announced the arrest of 25 individuals accused of harassing motorists along the Lekki axis. This operation was part of a broader enforcement initiative aimed at maintaining public safety and order in the state.

The arrests occurred during a patrol by enforcement teams monitoring activities along major corridors. Wahab emphasized that such disorderly conduct will not be tolerated and that the government will continue to monitor key areas to ensure public safety.

A short video accompanying the announcement showed the arrested individuals, described as young men in their teens to early twenties, seated closely together in a fenced compound. This operation is part of an ongoing series of enforcement drives targeting street urchins and beggars, with a previous clampdown resulting in the arrest of at least 86 street beggars in the Agege and Ketu areas.
