Oworonshoki Residents Block Third Mainland Bridge in Protest Over House Demolitions

Residents of Oworonshoki, Lagos, blocked the Third Mainland Bridge in protest over the demolition of houses without proper notice or compensation by the Lagos State Government. The demolition targeted unapproved structures along the Lekki-Iyana Oworonshoki coastal line, displacing several families.

The protest caused heavy traffic disruptions, with demonstrators demanding the withdrawal of demolition equipment. Security forces, led by Lagos State Commissioner of Police Moshood Jimoh, intervened to restore order and allow traffic flow.
