Bomb Explosion in Mushin, Lagos Injures One Person

On Monday morning, a bomb exploded in a commercial area of Mushin, Lagos, injuring one individual who was subsequently taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. The explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) that was placed beneath the passenger side of a vehicle, detonating when the engine started.

Tijani, a police spokesperson, confirmed that the explosive device was planted under the vehicle. Following the incident, police deployed an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team to cordon off the area and conduct a comprehensive sweep, which revealed no additional explosive devices.

Mr. Tajudeen Farombi, a local resident, reported that the explosion occurred around 6:00 AM, shortly after morning prayers, and described the scene as chaotic, with people afraid to approach the vehicle.

The police have urged residents to remain calm and disregard rumors about widespread insecurity in Lagos, reaffirming their commitment to ensuring safety and security in the state.
