Lagos Bus Service Reaches 42,000 Daily Passengers
Lagos Bus Services Limited (LBSL) has achieved a record of 42,000 daily passengers across 40 routes, with an average of 1,000 buses operating each day. This milestone was disclosed by Bolanle Ogunlola during a press briefing on Tuesday, marking the third year of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's second term.
The agency's total passenger movement from May 2019 to February 2025 is projected to reach 60,882,000. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, a representative of LBSL, emphasized the commitment of the Sanwo-Olu administration to build an integrated, safe, affordable, and efficient transport system.
The bus network covers five divisions and 13 local government areas, including Ibeju Lekki and Ikorodu. The agency operates 21 corridors and supports six depots with a fleet of 300 buses.
Future projects include the green and purple rail line projects and the Lekki water taxi initiative, aimed at further improving transportation infrastructure in Lagos.
