Security Heightened in Lekki After Cinema Attack

On Friday, a machete-wielding man attacked security personnel at Filmhouse Cinemas IMAX in Lekki, Lagos State, resulting in the death of two individuals. The suspect attempted to enter the cinema but was stopped by security guards, leading to a violent confrontation where he allegedly stabbed one guard to death and injured another.

The suspect was subsequently mobbed and died. In response to this incident, entertainment centers and residential areas in Lekki have heightened their security measures.

Security personnel are now more vigilant regarding access control and monitoring visitors. Olufemi Fadahunsi, a resident of Lekki Phase One, reported that security arrangements in his estate have been adjusted to enhance visitor monitoring.

Sulyman Bello, President of the Lekki Estates Residents and Stakeholders Association, confirmed the increased security across communities in the area and called for actions to address the underlying causes of such threats.
