20-Year-Old Okada Rider Arraigned for Murder in Lagos

On Thursday, December 7, 2023, Sheffu Lawal, a 20-year-old Okada rider, was arraigned at the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja. He faces two counts of conspiracy to commit murder and murder in connection with the death of Tasiu Moham.

The incident occurred during a fight involving a group of people, where Lawal allegedly used a knife to stab Moham, leading to his death. The charges were read before Justice Hakeem Oshodi, who is presiding over the case.

The prosecution, represented by counsel O.O. Aluko, requested a trial date following the plea.

The incident reportedly took place at 1:00 AM on Araromi Street in the Igbogbo area of Ikorodu, Lagos State. The charges against Lawal are in violation of Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
