Eko Power and Ikeja Electric Report August Outages

In August 2026, Lagos electricity customers experienced poor power supply as multiple Band A feeders failed to meet minimum service levels, with some feeders recording zero hours of electricity supply. Data from the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission revealed that Eko Power Limited had 201 compliant and 46 non-compliant feeders out of 247 Band A feeders, while Ikeja Electric reported 113 compliant and 52 non-compliant feeders out of 165 Band A feeders.
Notably, two feeders under Eko Power recorded zero hours of supply, and four feeders operated by IE Energy Lagos also experienced the same issue. Despite these failures, some feeders managed to deliver close to the required 24-hour service.
Eko Power's best-performing feeder, Blue Rail Line, averaged 23.9 hours of supply, while IE Energy's top feeder recorded 24 hours. The overall average for Band A feeders was 21.9 hours for Eko Power and 21.3 hours for IE Energy.
Metering rates were 70% for Eko Power and 85% for Ikeja Electric, with Eko Power newly metering 1,979 customers in August.
