LASERC Enhances Lagos Electricity Market at Stakeholder Forum

The Lagos Electricity Regulatory Commission (LASERC) hosted its inaugural stakeholder engagement forum on Thursday at the Cordi Hotel, aimed at reinforcing its commitment to enhancing the electricity market in Lagos State. Chief Executive Officer Temitop Georg described the forum as a pivotal moment in the evolution of the state's electricity sector, emphasizing transparency and collaboration with stakeholders.

LASERC aims to establish a functional, efficient, and consumer-centered electricity market to support Lagos State's economic growth. Georg reiterated LASERC's vision to become a leading electricity regulatory facilitator, enhancing the quality of life for residents.

The commission has established zonal offices in Ikorodu, Amuwo Odofin, Badagry, and Sangotedo to improve complaint resolution and regulatory service access, expected to be operational by the third quarter of the year. The forum also addressed ongoing reforms in the electricity ecosystem, presenting significant investment opportunities and highlighting the need for modern clean energy technologies.
