Lagos State Enhances Real Estate Oversight with New Offices

The Lagos State government is intensifying efforts to strengthen oversight in the real estate sector by establishing satellite offices for the Lagos State Real Estate Regulatory Authority (LASRERA). Abdulhafi Toriola, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Housing, recently led a team to inspect the satellite office located in Igbogbo Baiyeku, Ikorodu.

The initiative aims to evaluate operational readiness and enhance service delivery capacity, bringing regulatory services closer to residents and property owners. Toriola praised the decentralization of regulatory services as a significant step towards improving public access and efficiency.

He reaffirmed the government's commitment to strengthening LASRERA's mandate to sanitize the real estate sector, curb fraudulent practices, and promote compliance. Plans are underway to expand the agency's presence with new satellite offices expected to commence operations in Amuwo Odofin, Mushin, Ojo, and Lekki.

This expansion is part of a broader effort to improve service delivery amid growing demand for regulatory oversight in Nigeria's largest property market.
