Lagos Seals 20 Properties in Ikeja for Planning Violations

The Lagos State Government has sealed more than 20 properties in the Ikeja Local Government Area due to various physical planning violations. This enforcement action was conducted by the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) and led by the Permanent Secretary of the Office of Physical Planning, Tpl.

Olayinka Wasiu, alongside the General Manager of LASPPPA, Tpl. Kehinde Osinaike, and other directors.

The affected properties included uncompleted buildings and structures with unauthorized extensions that breached the Lagos State Physical Planning Law. Tpl.

Olayinka Wasiu stated that this proactive measure aims to prevent building collapses, promote orderly development, and ensure compliance with planning regulations. He noted that property owners had previously received contravention notices outlining necessary steps for regularization.

Wasiu urged property owners to obtain required planning permits before any development. He assured residents that LASPPPA would continue to strengthen monitoring and enforcement to curb illegal developments and maintain a safe built environment in Lagos State.
