Lagos Seals Over 20 Properties for Planning Violations

The Lagos State Government has sealed more than 20 properties in the Ikeja Local Government Area due to various physical planning infractions. This enforcement action was executed by the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority as part of efforts to uphold compliance with the state’s planning laws.

The operation was led by Olayinka Wasiu, the Permanent Secretary of the Office of Physical Planning, alongside Kehinde Osinaike, the General Manager of the authority, and other directors. The properties affected included landed properties, uncompleted buildings, and structures with unauthorized extensions, all violating the Lagos State Physical Planning Law.

Wasiu stated that the enforcement was a proactive measure to prevent building collapses and ensure orderly physical development. He emphasized the government's commitment to protecting lives and property through strict enforcement of planning regulations.

Property owners had been notified prior to the sealing, with contravention notices served outlining necessary steps for compliance. The authority plans to continue monitoring and enforcement to maintain a legally compliant built environment.
